“Resource LGBTQIA Moscow”, the centre for social, psychological and cultural projects, presents:
Families stories. A revelation of meaning.
This photography exhibition is the result of a psychological art project dedicated to family equality. The idea was to present couples and families in their diversity. The project was open to both LGBTQIA and heterosexual families and couples.
The aim of the project is to show the value of family regardless of the partners’ sex, gender and sexual orientation.A psychological art project is a shared creative process in which the participants and the authors attempted to find meaning and value in their relationship and in their family history.
We decided to focus on the things that speak to families the most, the things that are important in the here and now as well as how they see their past and future. And, most importantly, we emphasised the things that bind the couple or family together and breathes meaning and value into their relationship.
The photography exhibition includes photos from the families’ personal archives, photos of family artefacts, works of poetry and art created by the participants, photos from the photo-shoots and the texts of the interviews.
