The Fourth LGBTQIAPP+ Family Conference
Openness and solidarity. Risks and opportunities.
The conference will take place on November 10 – 12, 2017, in Moscow, Russia.
It is organised by Resource LGBTQIA Moscow, centre for social, psychological and cultural projects.
We would like to invite a broad spectrum of specialists to take part in the conference: psychologists, sociologists, researchers, philosophers, lawyers, human rights activists and specialists of the helping professions who work with LGBTQIAs, LGBTQIA couples, families and partnerships and who are interested in these issues.
Also, we would like to extend a special invitation to LGBTQIA couples, families and partnerships as well as all LGBTQIAs who care about acknowledgement, openness and standing for their rights in Russia.
It is our desire that our views which support open discussion and the acknowledgment of diversity in partnerships and families that really does exist in Russia will become an alternative to the trend for the strengthening of patriarchal family values in Russia.
Our conference is an opportunity to express solidarity between specialists of the helping professions and the LGBTQIA community, to see prospects for cooperation, help and support, and an opportunity to share valuable experience and knowledge, and through this to create a space free from discrimination, which supports practices of respect and acknowledgment towards different families and partnerships.
The conference will be a platform for presentations and discussions on pressing topics, gatherings where participants can share their unique personal experience, educational seminars, our trademark round table discussion for psychologists working with the LGBTQIA community, and workshops connected with relationships, children in LGBTQIA families and much more!
We are also planning to invite specialists and LGBTQIA families from abroad to the conference.
Everyone interested in issues, such as family, partnerships and the transformation of the institution of marriage in present-day society, will find something of interest in the programme of the conference.
To ensure the safety of our participants, the address of the venue will be sent privately to those who have completed the registration form.
